As part of the "Tale of X Gamers" (see Wrythsprimarchs.blogspot.co.nz for more), I've grabbed the Start Painting Tyranids box and am painting my way through it.
I've decided to go with a natural look for my Nids, opting for a bone colour with glossy black/brown carapace. The idea for the carapace actually came from a monstrous cockroach that infiltrated our house one night.
There were a ton of extra parts on the sprues, and with just a few more bits from Glen's Workshop, I was able to build an extra Warrior, and extra Hive Tyrant (on foot). I was already happy with the extra value of the 'Start Collecting' box, now these Nids are turning into an incredibly cheap army.
With my Warriors and Gargoyles painted, I just have my flying Hive Tyrant left to go to complete my initial pledge.
